Happy 4th Birthday

Another year has gone by. Ryan is 4 years old. I have been told by a lot of people that there's a vast improvement on their behaviour once they turn 4. This I have to see as Ryan has been throwing lots of tantys.

Anyway, this is not what I'm blogging about now. This is to let you know how his 4th birthday went. As usual, he had 2 celebrations. One at daycare and the other one with us.

The party the daycare had for him was on the exact day of his birthday. They have been learning about shapes and he asked me for a rectangle shaped cake. I tried looking for him but couldn't find one. Well, not for the amount that I want to pay. I managed to get him a square chocolate cake with lots of cherries. We had to prepare for his party the next day so we had that day off. We took the party food to his class and stayed for a little while. That was the first time we attended his birthday party at school. He was so happy that all the attention were on him and he looked so proud. Unfortunately we didn't take any photos as we weren't planning on staying. However I did take a photo of the cake before I took it to daycare.

He hasn't had any 'real' parties before so I decided to throw him one this year. It was lots of work and not cheap but I did it. The party was today and he had lots of fun. I guess that makes it all worth it :)

I had Ben 10 as the theme of the party and there were about 13 kids including him. 5 of them were from daycare and there were some others. He had a chocolate birthday cake shaped like the character Rath. I had some games for them and they ate in the garage which was decorated with the colour of the theme. Overall, I think the party went quite well. Thanks to all those that attended and made this a fun day for Ryan.

The party looked like a lot of fun. You definitely went to a lot of effort to get the decorations in place. I loved what you did to the garage. All those games. You must tell me how to play musical aliens and rescuing ben ten.

And the cake looks amazing. Great work work.

Did you hire the umbrella on the deck or did Dad get that after our impromptu lunch in Nov?

I did all the organising. Mum and dad did the food for the adults. Jas and Ash's mum also helped a bit with the food. Ash helped me with putting everything up in the garage. It was a joint effort.

I'm so glad that everything turned out fine. It hasn't been easy putting everything together but I enjoyed doing it.

The cake is from the same lady that did his cake the last couple of years. Just in case you don't already know, Rath is one of the aliens in Ben 10.

Musical aliens is a modified version of musical chairs and rescuing Ben is just melting the ice with water. I will send you a video (when I work out how to do it).

It would have been great if you guys were there.

The umbrellas were on special last month and that was when dad got them. I think he got a bargain on them.

Ryan did enjoyed his party - he looked so happy. At one stage he forgot he was 4 and told me that he was 3. You did a wonderful job - have a thought of what I said to you yesterday that you should do this as a sideline - organising parties for children. You are really talented in this and is also something that you like to do.
