Chopsticks

Ryan has just started to use the chopsticks. I have never thought of letting him use the chopsticks as we seldom use it at home. Anyway, he was at my parents' place and they made some noodles for him. They gave him a pair of chopsticks to eat with and he finished his whole bowl of noodles by himself.

This is a photo of him eating his noodles last night. It's not a very good photo as it was taken with a mobile phone. I do have a video of it but the file is too big for me to send from my phone to my computer.

Easter 2010

It has been a really full on weekend for Ryan. For the last day of the long weekend, my mum and I took him to the Royal Easter Show in Greenlane. I thought with him being 3 years old, it's probably a good age to go.

We were there quite early in the day so we can avoid the crowd. Turned out, it was a really good decision as the day turned out to be quite hot.

The main attraction for us was the Ben 10 live show. I think he really enjoyed the show. He was mesmerised by it... sitting and staring at the stage the whole time.

I had my doubts of him going on the rides and I was right. Although he did go on the dodgem car with me. This was when we were in the main amusement rides area. When we were indoor, we saw some kiddie rides and he didn't mind going on them. I think it was the noise that scared him when we were outside and with the big scary rides so close to the kids' ones, it didn't help. Anyway, he went on a few and was really happy.

He was scared of the animals that were there - yes, he is scared of a lot of things :) - but was really fascinated with the little piglets feeding off their mum. He even tried his hands at milking a cow. It wasn't a real cow but it was good to see him doing something different.
Anyway, that's the weekend gone. It's back to school for him tomorrow.

Monterey Park

I found a place in Hobsonville which is a Motor Museum and Model World so we went there to checked it out today.

It's a pretty cool place with scale model of Auckland and NZ buildings and landmarks. They also have an area where you can see model trains winding through little towns and villages. The main attraction for Ryan was the train ride which did two circuits of the park.

Here are a couple of photos of Ryan enjoying his day out at the park.

Day Out With Mummy

Daddy wasn't feeling very well today and as it was a public holiday, mummy and I went exploring.

We started the day by dropping the car off at Por Por and Koong Koong's house and from there, we got a ride from them to the ferry building. Mummy bought a ticket for the ferry to Devonport (it was free for me) and as it was going to be my first time on a ferry, I was very excited while waiting for it to arrived. I really enjoyed my ride across the water.

Once we arrived, we saw a horse wagon. I was afraid to go near the horses but I didn't mind going on the wagon as it was no where near the horses. We did a short circuit and I was waving to everyone.
Mummy took me to the playground after that and I had fun playing on the slides and swing.

I was hungry after playing so mummy and I went for lunch. We shared our food but I had my own cup of fluffy with marshmallows and that was really yummy.

After lunch, we headed back to the pier for our trip back to Auckland. The ferry ride back was as good as the one before. When we got back to Auckland, mummy made me walked all the way to the bus stop. I was very tired and asked mummy to carry me but she said no as I was too heavy. I made it all the way there and had an enjoyable bus ride home to Por Por and Koong Koong's house.
